What day do we move again?

Our moving day is May 1st, this Saturday! We still have a lot to do. The painting has to get finished, the appliances have to be delivered, extensive cleaning has to be done and the list goes on and on. I loathe the moving process, but I enjoy the end result. We will have more space, the Hubby will be closer to work, we will have a nice backyard and redecorating is always fun! This will be such a busy week, but I am looking forward to spending the weekend in our new home!

God bless my husband! He has done so much work to the house during his time off and he has been doing it all by himself! The biggest project was painting, he did the whole house!
Here is a sneak peek at some of his hard work!

The kitchen: I have always wanted a red kitchen and now i have one!!

Julianna's room:Now I know some might think the pink is too bright, but her furniture is a really dark finish and I think the contrasting colors will go nicely together. I can't wait to see it all finished!

Shot-o-Rama: Take 2!

Today was the day that Jules got her shots! She was suppose to get them a couple of weeks ago, we ended up having to reschedule, so today was the big day! I was nervous for her, but I tried to remain calm and not give out any bad energy. I think I did a pretty good job! We decided to video her before her shots and during (oh, the memories!). Overall Julianna did a pretty great job. After the shots were over she calmed down pretty quickly. She is now napping peacefully! :)

12 Week Stats:
  • weight- 11lbs
  • length-22 inches
  • head circumference-40 cm (She gets the big head from her dad!)

Please ignore the horrible close-up of me in the 2nd video!

Are You Pooping?

I ask Jules this question on a daily basis. 1.) I enjoy holding a dialogue with her, because it is just her and I most of the time. 2.) I always get an answer. Of course she doesn't actually answer me, well, not with words anyway. When you have a child you become pretty good at recognizing the cues that are given, and what will follow those particular hints. I will be using Julianna's pooping cues as an example.

I find these to be very useful. I know whats coming, before her poo has even hit the diaper, and it won't be long before the glorious appearance. I may know this now, but at first I didn't and had to learn , just like any first time mom. Knowing can make a world of a difference!

These are the telltale signs (in order) Jules is getting ready for some business:
  • her face gets red, like really red
  • eyes begin to water
  • usually some grunting
  • becomes a squirmy worm
  • when she was really tiny she always use to claw her face. ( not anymore!)
  • then kaboom! The sounds that come out of her bum amaze me sometimes and even can startle the pooches!!
  • a sly smile tells me the job is done
The last sign is a very important one because if you rush to change her before then, you run the risk of getting projectile pooped on. Which is never fun and always a big mess! I have learned this lesson and I am proud to say I have only been projectile pooped on one time. I am sorry to say, the same cannot be said for her daddy.

Now, after every poop I just pray there is no excess leakage!

Gone Are The Days...

Of newborn diapers and 4oz bottles. Jules has moved on to bigger and better things like size one diapers and 6 & 8oz bottles. ::tear:: She will be 12 weeks old on Thursday, and every week seems to go by faster than the one before. Julianna is no longer the teeny tiny baby who would take what seemed like forever to drink 2oz every 2.5 hours ,instead she is my (bigger) teeny tiny baby who can sometimes chug 5oz in mere minutes. And her hiney that seemed so small in even newborn diapers, now fits comfortably in her "big girl" size ones.

Here are a few of the "big girl" things Jules does now:
  • smiles. Real smiles! Not the accidental ones. (one of my personal faves!)
  • she has stopped clawing at her own face
  • likes to watch and observe-mobile, dogs playing, computer and her hands.
  • loves tummy time
  • holds her head up like a pro
  • rolling over-from belly to back
  • sleeps through the night! On a rare occasion she will get up at 4:30 but will usually sleep til 7:30-8. (I hope I didn't jinx anything!)
  • kicks her feet like crazy, especially if you are sitting next to her
  • loves her Bumbo
  • she is starting to use her adorable little laugh
  • talks a lot, just like her momma!! :)
Time has just been flying by!

Daddy Snores

Julianna had us cracking up last night! Her reaction to her Daddy making those snoring noises are pretty darn cute! I loved the way she would smile and be startled at the same time.

Sorry the video is sideways. We recorded it from my phone and this is the very first time I have ever uploaded anything to YouTube, so I'm not sure how to fix it. If you could help me out I would really appreciate it!!

The Joys of Motherhood:

You can have a baby's bib on for hours and it will stay bone dry- no spit up, no drool, nothing! Then you say to yourself "Ok, I think it's finally safe to take off this bib so we can see that trendy little ensemble you have on today." Then the second the bib is off and put to the side you hear it....blehhh and then you see it.... a nice little coin sized puddle of vom to complete the outfit! And you can totally hear your baby saying - "Duh! Mom, you should already know how this drill works. Now change me again and lets move on with our day, shall we?"

And as always a cute little smile and all is forgotten

Oh Target, You're Sooo Tricky

Target and I have a Love/Hate relationship...They loooovvee making me feel like I'm getting a good deal and I hate that I just keep going back for more! So because of that little fact, I always end up spending more money than I originally planned on in the first place. When I find something that catches my eye, I somehow find a way to justify buying it- " Aww, that outfit is sooo adorable! How much is it? $9.99, that is such a good deal! I'll get just this one." But it never seems to stop at just one, because when you move on to the next rack you find another thing that is more adorable than the first and the vicious cycle continues!Probably another thing that doesn't help my cause is that I could spend hours in there ( sometimes I do), just walking up and down every aisle to see whats new. Oh, and the $1.00 section... they might as well call it the $5,$10 or $15.00 section. It is evil. Even with me knowing all of this about Target, I still LOVE it! And that my friends is why Target is sooo tricky!

Pssst! Here are a few of those adorable little outfits that I just couldn't leave Target without!

Shot-o-Rama

Jules her 2 month shots tomorrow! I am nervous!! I don't want her to be in pain. I don't want to hear her cry the cry that starts off with her face turning bright red, her mouth wide open but no sound coming out until a few seconds after she catches her breath. I am soooo glad that her daddy will be there with us tomorrow. I was thinking about asking to space the shots out so we can do some tomorrow and some at another appointment, so its not too much all at once. What do you think - Is it better to just get them all over with at one appointment or to have them spaced out? I would love to hear some tips that will help us out! I will try to update tomorrow on how everything went. ::eeekk::

I'm an Addict....

A baby bow addict. It is an addiction that started after I found out that the little human growing inside me was a girl and ever since then, I haven't gotten enough of them. I am always on the look out for adorable bows and headbands, and of course the BIGGER the better! Jules has had a bow in her hair since the day she was born. For Reals. See.... she was only a few hours old

And she always has a bow or headband on that matches her outfit when we go out, and if we stay home I would say about 85% of the time she will have one on. I just can't help that she looks sooo freaking cute with a bow on the top of her little head! Do they have meetings for people like me? A club? Anything? Well, I will start one then. I shall call it the BBA- Baby Bows Anonymous! Anyone care to join me? haha!

P.S. Check back later in the week if you want to see proof of said addiction! It will be cute overload, I promise!!

Easter,Earthquakes and Explosions! Oh my!

Wow! What an eventful day! Jules and I were having a nice and relaxing Easter together,we got back from NJ last night so we are both pretty tired. It was just the the 2 of us (daddy had to work). We slept in, played, and read a couple stories it was great! Well soon after her 3:00 feeding is when things got exciting! She started having some rumblings from her hiney, that were...umm...quite interesting, so I was already preparing myself for some major clean up. As I went to get her from her nice and cozy place on the couch, I began hearing some sounds, some very familiar sounds. Do you remember THIS? My heart started racing and I must admit I did start freaking out a tad. ( at least this was happening during the day and not the usual middle of the night nonsense) but the fear quickly faded when I picked her up and I got a nice surprise like this! The shaking seemed to last a long time because as I was changing her, I could still feel it. All that mattered to me was getting her cleaned up from that icky poopy mess! Of course none of these events seemed to phase my little trooper Julianna! I gave myself a little pat on the back for not doing so bad either! :)
