21 weeks & 5 days

That is how old Julianna is... 5 months! Only 1 month shy of her half birthday...CRAZY!! My little Jules is growing up fast. I love that every month she learns so many new things and her little personality just keeps getting bigger!
This is what's new with Jules:
  • weight-14 lbs
  • length-24.5 inches
  • size 1 diapers
  • still in 0-3 month clothes and even a few of her newborn outfits still fit her
  • loves her exersaucer
  • loves to "pet" The Pooches and by "pet" I mean grab them by their hair/ears
  • no crawling yet but she can spin herself in circles!
  • found her voice and is not afraid to use it!
Here are few new pictures. Do you recognize the headband? It is one that I made for her!

Getting Crafty...Well,Trying To!

Look what I made!! These last few days I have had the urge to try and get a little crafty and creative. It didn't take long for me to decide that the first thing I would try and make would be headbands & bows. I am ADDICTED to baby bows as some of you may already know, remember this? So this just seemed like the next logical step -feed my cravings by making them! Now, I know these may not be perfect seeing as how they are the first generation and all, but with some more practice I know they will start to look better! Who knows? This may even turn into something more...I hope! :)

What do you think? Suggestions or feedback would be great!

Thanks!!

Twins?!?!

Well, maybe not twins, but I think you can tell she is my daughter! When I saw this picture of me at my parent's house yesterday it put a smile on my face. I think it is pretty cool how both Jules and I have red sunglasses on, because when I bought them for her I totally forgot about this picture of me, in fact I forgot I was even wearing sunglasses in the picture, and red ones at that! So I guess you could say that great minds think alike, because both my mom and I thought that our little girls looked good with some cool red shades!

Daddy's Little Girl

You're sugar You're spice
You're everything nice
and you're Daddy's Little Girl.

You're the end of the rainbow,
My Pot of Gold
You're Daddy's little girl to have and hold.
A precious gem is what you are
You're Mommy's Bright and shining star.

You're sugar
You're spice
You're everything nice
and you're Daddy's Little Girl.

~Michael Bublé

Julianna is blessed to have you as her Daddy. When I see the two of you together it always melts my heart. I love watching the two of you play together. I love hearing you talk to Jules and read her bedtime stories. I love the way you are so patient and loving. I love sharing this journey of parenthood with you. I love that I can always count on you. I love that together we make the perfect team. I love that I love you more today, then the day I married you.

Happy Father's Day to the most amazing Daddy.

Sunshine Memories

When I was growing up I always looked forward to the summer, who doesn't? I remember my summers always being jam packed with all sorts of trips to Sea World, Disneyland,Raging Waters, Laughlin, San Diego and the list goes on and on. You know what's funny? Out of all the amazing things we did and the amazing places we went, the place that I loved going to the most was simple- the beach. We would make a trip to the beach at least once a week and it never got old. We always had the same "beach routine"-my brother and I would gather all of our sand toys, boogie boards, towels, always making sure they made it into the car the night before, so we wouldn't have to worry about it in the morning. The morning-of always consisted of my Dad filling the red cooler with ice and drinks and my Mom making the BEST sandwiches in the world(they are seriously amazing). Before we left we always had to put our sunblock on so we wouldn't "forget" once we got there. We would spend the entire day at the beach and somehow it still wasn't enough, we always wanted to stay longer because we loved it that much!

Now that I'm the MOM, I find myself wanting to create all of the special memories for Julianna, that my parents so generously gave to my brother and I. So this past Tuesday, Jules went on her FIRST summer beach trip! She did so well. We brought her Bumbo and some toys, so she wouldn't get bored. We dipped our feet in the water, felt the sand on our toes and the 3 of us even manged to take a little snooze! We had such an amazing day! The hubby and I even talked about making this a weekly outing for the summer( I hope so, considering we only live about 30 minutes away!)

The Pooch has a new do!

My little pooch Honey got a makeover a few days ago! Honey use to have the long classic Yorkie hair, while Romeo has always had his hair short. Of course the longer the hair, the more maintenance that is required to keep it looking good. Since Jules was born, I haven't really been keeping up with brushing Honey everyday like I should have been and she was looking like quite the wreck! So I FINALLY made the decision to get her cut just like her brother Romeo. I wasn't sure how Honey would look because she is pretty small and I was afraid she would look like a little rat with such short hair, thank goodness she doesn't!! I am happy with her new do and I think Honey likes her new look too!

Someone has a new BFF

Jules LOVES her Sophie! In my opinion Sophie is definitely worth the $money$. Especially when you have a teething baby who wants to shove everything and anything they touch into their drooly little mouth!

To Pierce or Not to Pierce

I never knew this was a controversial issue, until I was pregnant with Julianna. I guess I thought piercing a baby's ears was just something that the majority of people did. Maybe because 1.) My ears were pierced when I was a baby. 2.) The majority of girls I knew growing up had pierced ears as well. So when I discovered this was an issue for some, I was surprised. When I found out I was having a girl, I never even thought twice about whether or not I would be piercing her ears when she was a baby.

Apparently I never thought twice about it and my hubby had never once thought about it! After more than a few discussions on the issue, we ended up deciding that we would go ahead and get them done now rather than waiting until she was older. And we both agreed she would definitely only be wearing tasteful studs, no hoops or dangling earrings until her teenage years!

We got them done this past Monday. It was fast and she cried less than when she got her shots. I think her Daddy thought she would be screaming her head off, but she didn't. She hasn't been acting any differently and hasn't showed any signs of pain or discomfort and will let me clean them with no problems!

I know some say "Well, what if she doesn't like earrings and wants them out?" if she does end up not liking them, she can take them out and never wear them again! That is the beauty of ear piercing -it is not permanent and can easily be changed. My mom never forced me to wear earrings. It was always my choice, sometimes I wore them and sometimes I didn't. I remember there was one year that I ended up not wearing them, but I was sure glad that the holes didn't close up when I wanted to put a pair in again!

How do you feel about getting your baby's ears pierced? Will you? Have you? Will you not?

Tasty Toes

Julianna has officially found her feet! Now, when her feet are in close proximity to her mouth, she can't help but taste her little toes!! I happen to think that this is adorable!

Jules, How old are you?

4 months? What? You can't believe it and neither can I!

I know I say this a lot. but seriously time has just been going at lightening speed. Before having Julianna it never felt like time moved this fast. Before Mommywood the days, weeks, months and years seemed to just crawl by and now with just a blink of an eye I go from morning to night, Sunday to Friday and May to June. It is like becoming a Mommy puts you in a crazy time warp. I never really fully understood it when people would tell me "Enjoy all your time with the baby. It goes by soooo fast" but now I do (because it's the truth!!) and it is one of the first things I always tell any of my friends who have just had a little one. Please slow down time, slow down!!

So, now that I am a little over the shock of having a 4 month old, lets catch up with Jules!

Jules likes to:
  • laugh - I LOVE it!
  • play with her feet
  • roll around
  • pet The Pooches
  • talk-baby babbling
  • be flown around the room
  • try to hold her bottle
  • try and sit up
  • play her piano
I love watching her learn new things. It is amazing how much she has changed in the last month. Her personality is shining brighter each and every day. I am always reminding myself to savor all the moments big and small because before I know it, it will be January again and we will be celebrating her 1st birthday. Mind boggling!
