The difference a year makes...

This was the day I found out life as I knew it would never be the same. When I took the pregnancy test I had many different emotions nervous, excited, anxious, hopeful but at the same time not wanting to get my hopes too high just in case the test was negative. To my surprise and relief I saw this...

and I immediately wanted to scream to everyone I knew "I'M PREGNANT!!" but didn't. The Hubby and I kept our little secret to ourselves for the first few weeks( I did break down and tell my mom ) it seemed like F-O-R-E-V-E-R !
Then on June 11, we got to see the little baby that was baking

When I saw the beautiful little flicker that was a heartbeat, my eyes began to fill with tears. I was relieved that my little one was growing right on schedule. I could not stop looking at this picture. I was in LOVE!

From that point on all I could think about was baby this and baby that from furniture to bedding, names to baby gear. I was obsessed!

My due date seemed soooo far away! January 29,2010 could not get here fast enough. I was blessed to have an amazing pregnancy. Did I have morning sickness? Yep. Until I was 16 weeks, all I ate was string cheese, granola bars and ginger ale. Did my hips hurt? Yep. Did I have trouble sleeping? Sometimes. Did I have some weird and crazy pains that made my crotch feel like I was shot with a laser? You bet! But as soon as I would feel her move, none of the sickness, aches and pains compared to the feeling I got when she would do her little dance. Truly amazing.

When I arrived at the hospital on January 27,2010 at midnight. It was surreal. I,ME,ASHLEY was there to birth a child,MY child! I was going to be a MOM! It all of a sudden seemed like a dream. It was a dream that was very painful and 38 hours long. I was thisclose to ripping out my I.V. and getting the eff out of there. Luckily that didn't happen and my Doctor came at just the right moment and before I knew it, I was off to get cut open.

Only what seemed like moments after entering the operating room, I finally got to meet the one I had been dreaming of

Now, I just can't believe it has been almost 4 months since I first saw her face. It is incredible how fast time flies when all you want it to do is slow down.

This past year has been the best one by far and I know it won't be my last. I am excited for the many more best years that are sure to follow.

I'm back!

And I have a new non chewed on power cord!! It was only a day that I was sans computer but it felt like more! I have learned my lesson and from now on I will no longer be leaving the computer cord or any cord(Honey has had a "thing" for electrical cords since she was a puppy ) for that matter in Honey's little mischievous path.

Hello Lover

There are only seven days left until....

I am beyond excited for this movie! I have seen every single episode at least once and when the first movie came out I saw it on opening day! Watching SATC is what started my love of Cosmopolitans and my drooling over all things Chanel. I can't wait to see where Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda are at in their "lives" and Aidan is back...this should be very interesting!!

Are there any other lovers of SATC out there?

She Can't Possibly be Teething...Can She?

From the day Julianna was born she has spoiled me with her very laid back attitude. Nothing really seemed to annoy her or rile her up and the only time she would cry was when she was hungry. To my surprise and relief she has continued this trend and for that I am so very blessed! (Maybe this is why I wouldn't mind having baby #2 sooner rather than later. ) So you can imagine my surprise when my baby started sporting her cranky pants a couple of nights ago to what seemed to be out of the blue. Then overnight, all of the other signs appeared that now lead me to believe we are entering the land of teething.
  • drool- in copious amounts
  • chewing on anything she can get her mouth on-she has quite an impressive bite (ouch!)
  • extreme irritability-usually in the early evening/evening hours
  • crying-not just any crying. it is the kind of crying that seems to just come out of nowhere and usually starts off silent then proceeds to pierce the eardrums . (it breaks my heart)
  • refuses to take a bottle- only when her daddy tries to feed her she will fight it but when i feed her she is fine. I'm not sure if this is really something that teething is causing or not but I know it makes him sad. :(
I hope she starts feeling better soon, I don't like seeing her in pain!!

Now that teething has begun, it has me wondering when she will get her first tooth! I can't even imagine her with teeth yet. I know it can take some time before she may actually have a pearly white pop up but that won't stop me from obsessively checking her gums from now on!

I know every baby is different but when did your little one start teething/get their first tooth?

What helped the most with their discomfort?

The 3 of Us

Every couple of months I like to get our pictures taken and my lovely SIL is kind enough to take them for us! I LOVE getting my picture taken but The Hubby...not so much, so whenever picture time rolls around he always says "Pictures? But we just took pictures." and I always have to remind him that no, we didn't "just" take pictures and that it has been a few months.
Julianna does a great a job putting up with the camera in her face and usually won't start to have a meltdown until after an hour or so, her Daddy on the other hand likes to be the difficult one from the very start! I am hoping one day he will grow out of it!!

These are a few of my favorites

My Date Night in Review

So, I realized it has been almost a week since we had our first date night and I never did let you know how it went!

We planned on my brother and SIL coming over at 6:00pm so we could make it to the 7:00pm showing of Iron Man 2. Well, we didn't make it to the one at 7. Due to the combination of me not being ready(not being on time is one of my bad habits. i am working on my punctuality!)and me having the need to explain everything way too many times( i said i was nervous, remember?). I am sure they were both thinking "would you please just shut the eff up and get out of here already!!" They were nice and didn't and 40 minutes later we finally made it out of there. We ended up making it in time for the 7:30 one but of course it was sold out, so we had to wait for the next one at 8:00.

I only texted them twice before the movie to see how she was doing( the hubby banned me from texting during the movie). I thought that was pretty good, seeing how this was the first time we left her! Of course she survived, they survived(they got lucky and she didn't poop!) and I survived! It was nice to get out and relax together. I am sooo looking forward to our next night out!!

Oh...I almost forgot!
I really liked the movie and that's not just because RDJ was so darn cute in it!

Mommy NEEDS a Date!

The Hubby and I have not gone out on a date in...well, since before Julianna was born! We use to go out at least once a week! Our "dates" now consist of us watching T.V. together after Jules has gone to sleep for the night. Sometimes it is nice just to have a quiet night in, but I really would like to go out just the two of us. So tonight we have our first date after baby! I am excited to be going out(even if it is only for 3 hours...baby steps!) We have never gone out without Julianna, so leaving her is making me a tad nervous. I would probably be more nervous if it wasn't going to be my brother & SIL watching her. I know she will be well taken care of and I hope they wouldn't be afraid to handle a poop emergency, should one arise. We are not anticipating any such event but if it does, a little baby poop never killed anybody! I know they will do great!!! Go Auntie & Uncle!!

In case you are wondering, this is the movie we are planning to see for $11.00 a ticket:

A compromise- Not usually my genre of movie, but I will say this...I may have the slightest crush on Robert Downey Jr. and I may have only watched the first Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes because of him.

YAY! For after baby first dates!!

Busy Bee

Whew!! These last few days have been exhausting!! We are still not completely unpacked yet. We did get all of the big stuff done the first day, now it is just all the little things that have to get done. Maybe this weekend it will be finished! I haven't taken any pictures of the house yet, I will soon though! I LOVE all of my new appliances especially my Samsung refrigerator, it almost didn't fit through the door, but we made it happen!! The pooches like their new home too! They have been running around the house and backyard since Thursday, I knew they would love having a place to run!

Julianna has also been doing great. I was worried how she would do sleeping in a new environment. She has been amazing, no problems at all! She is still sleeping in our room in her bassinet, maybe that has helped her? I know I will have to start transitioning her to her crib soon, but I'm not too sure when that will happen. I like having her close!

As If moving wasn't enough for me these few last days, on Saturday I received a present. It was even brought to me in a nice BIG red bow. Can you guess what it is? Well, it was something that I hadn't seen in over a year, what a glorious year it was! That's right, the crimson tide has returned. I was hoping to be spared a few more months!

Side note:I don't know how many of you like The Real Housewives series, the new season of New Jersey starts tonight! I know it is not really too "real", but I still enjoy it!
