2 month letter

"Baby mine, don't you cry. Baby mine, dry your eyes. Rest your head close to my heart, Never to part, Baby of mine.If they knew sweet little you, They'd end up loving you too. What they'd give just for the right to hold you. From your head down to your toes, You're not much, goodness knows. But you're so precious to me, Sweet as can be, Baby of mine". ~ Alison Krauss

Dear Julianna,
Wow! Another month has come and gone and you are two months old. It is still hard to believe that you are my daughter and I am your Mommy. Being your mom has been such an amazing experience. I love watching you grow. You change a little more everyday. You have just started to smile on your own and when you smile at me it melts my heart every time. Your little cheeks and legs are starting to fill out and I absolutely love giving them a good squeeze! You love to snuggle close when you start to get sleepy and I am more than happy to let you snuggle as close as you want to. I love having you close to me. I can see your personality starting to form, you are such a laid back little girl, always so sweet and peaceful(well...except for when you met the Easter bunny!). How did I get so blessed? I Thank God that He chose me to be your Mother. I am so thankful for you sweet baby of mine.

I love you

Love,
Mommy

If there is an award...

for the best little traveler Julianna would win first place! My little Jules was soooo good! She pretty much slept the whole time and when she did happen to be awake she was happy and smiley! Traveling with a baby wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I had a lot more stuff that I had to bring but overall it went pretty well. Gate checking the car seat and stroller helps out a ton, you just leave it at the entrance of the plane and when you get off it is they're already waiting for you! The best part is the car seat and stroller are FREE to gate check!! Her first trip cross country was a success! I am a very proud momma!!

We get to do it all again in 7 days...back to Cali!

Up,Up and Away!

On Friday Jules will be going on her first trip on an airplane! We are going to New Jersey to visit the family. I am so excited for her to meet everyone, especially her Great Grandma (G.G. as we like to call her) ! It will be so amazing to see the four generations together. Julianna is the first Great Grandchild so i am sure she will be getting tons of attention and loving every minute of it! I am a little anxious to see how she will do on the flight. I hope she will be her usual laid back self and not mind the different environment and take a nice long nap all the way to Jersey.....and if not, at least Grandma and Grandpa will be with us to provide some entertainment! Now the packing begins! I will have to keep reminding myself that we are only staying for 8 days not 8 weeks. Jules and I will be sharing a luggage...will I be able to contain everything to just 1? I hope so!!

Baby + Bunny= Meltdown

Julianna got to meet the Easter Bunny! YAY! I had the bright idea of getting her pictures taken with Easter bunny, I mean I HAD to...it is her first Easter, you know!! Well apparently I was the only one who was having a good time during the photo op. Jules did alright for, oh.. about the the first 10 seconds....

Then she started to loose it....

And about 5 seconds after that she completely lost it!

I hope your experience with the Easter bunny goes a lot better than Julianna's did! :) Happy Easter!!!

Rockin' n Rollin'

At 4:04 am Julianna experienced her first earthquake! And of course she didn't even notice anything was going on. It was only a 4.4 but still an earthquake nonetheless. I happened to have already been awake because my little babe wanted a 4am snack. I just finished making her bottle when I heard it, you know the sound, its the sound you hear before you feel the earth shake. I hate it. It sends a rush of fear through me. That is probably what really makes me panic, it is the anticipation of knowing what follows "that sound". Thank God Chad was still home because if he wasn't I probably would have freaked out a little...more. Ever since I was a little girl I have had to remind myself not to panic. During an earthquake I was always the one that would be running around the house like a crazy lady! My dad would tell me"Panicking is what gets people killed, RELAX!" Strong words for a little one,( the killed one) but hey, I never forgot it. So even now after 20 years of being a California girl, I am not used to earthquakes and they still make me panic...just not as much as when I was 5.

Oh,and another thing...why do earthquakes always have to be in the middle of the freaking night or right before the sun comes up? Why??

The PRICE of being born

$33,153.90.... and that is just the c-section and hospital stay. Who knows what other bills will be lurking in the mailbox in the coming weeks . Thank God for insurance because we only have to pay $400.00!

I know as the years go by we will spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on Julianna. If it costs $33,153.90 just to break out from the womb. I can only imagine what the grand total will be when she is 25. Too bad they don't have insurance policies for birthday parties, homecomings, proms and weddings! Imagine this.... Wedding Guest-" So if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for Julianna's wedding?" Me- " We only had to pay $400.00 our insurance covered the rest!!".... Ahhh, if only!!

Happy Feet

Yesterday we did a little shopping and Julianna is now the proud owner of a pair of these:

She did happen to get a few other adorable things but these just really make your heart happy... don't they?

The joys of Motherhood:BLOWOUT Edition

And, no I'm not talking about the kind for your hair. The kind I'm referring to is the diaper kind. Yes, that's right Jules had her first diaper blowout poop explosion extravaganza! It was great! I found out about said diaper leakage by getting poop on my hands when I picked her up to change her. I should have known it wasn't going to be pretty just from judging the rumblings that were exiting that little booty. I must say Jules handled herself with such grace and poise throughout the whole experience, not one tear was shed while mommy was trying to take off her clothes without getting poop in her hair! If only Chad were here to experience this historic first...one day :-)

Jules after the "poop situation". I asked her what happened with her diaper earlier and this was the look I got. She looks shocked that I would even ask her such a question!!
